Intensive Courses
Our intensive courses are tailored to suit you, and can be completed in 1 week to 6 weeks with a maximum of 4 hours per day to avoid tiredness.
Your test will be pre-booked before you start your course. The DSA state that to book your test, you must have passed your theory test. If you need help with this, don't worry, just ask your instructor.
There are two parts to the theory test and from September 2007 costs £28.50.
The first part is the multiple choice section in which you must get a minimum of 43 out of 50 to pass.
The second part is the hazard perception test. This shows a video clip from inside a car and you have to spot hazards developing, the earlier you spot them the more points you get (a maximum of 5 per hazard). There are 14 clips and 15 hazards; one clip having 2 hazards. You need to get 44 out of a possible 75 to pass. To get your theory certificate you need to pass both sections. You can not book your practical test until you have passed your theory test.
Once you have passed the theory test, you have 2 years in which to pass the practical test before the theory certificate runs out.
